Mary F. Payton, 94, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born May 26, 1922 to Leo and Rossie Veates in Americus, GA. Mary’s favorite color was red. She loved to watch television, especially variety shows as well as to eat out with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Robert J. Payton. Mary is survived by her daughter Regina Odom, son James Payton, brothers Paul Veates, Burt Veates, James Veates and one granddaughter Jenni Ratcliffe (Terry Miller). Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home is serving the family. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
