Mary Ann Mills

Mary Ann Ross Mills, 75, passed away on January 8, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. Mary Ann was born in Louisville, KY on January 23, 1942 to Mary Martha and Lawrence Ross. She was a graduate of Mercy Catholic High School. She married Ishmael Mills on June 10th, 1961 in Louisville. In 1980, she moved to Jacksonville with her husband and daughters. She retired from Prudential in 1995 from the Human Resource Dept. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a Kentucky Colonel. She was also a member of the Sophia Fleming Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is predeceased by her husband Ishmael Mills and her father Lawrence Ross. She is survived by her mother Mary Martha Ross, 97, of Louisville, KY and four sisters, Helen Reul, Barbara Perry (Milton), Nanci Hadley (Brent), and Betty Ross. She has three daughters, Joan Adams (Steve), Stephanie Grant (Ricky), and Melissa Herbert (Brian). She has six grandchildren, Andrew 27, Piper 24, Connor 22, Zachary 21, Jenna 19, and Cambryn 17, and two great-grandchildren, Madilyn (4) and Lucas (7 months). Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:30pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 in St. Joseph's Historic Catholic Church, 4214 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32223. Inurnment to take place at a later date.
