Mary Louise Edmonds Lewis, age 68, was granted her wings on May 28, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born December 22, 1949 to the late, Albert Edmonds and Annie Will Powell. She married the love of her life, Charles Fletcher Lewis, December 6, 1968.
Mary attended the public schools of Muscogee County and graduated from Spencer High School in Columbus, Georgia. Upon retiring, she was employed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in Atlanta, Georgia as an Administrative Assistant for many years. Her favorite hobbies included, spending time with her family, reading, and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Edmonds; mother, Annie Will Powell; father -in-laws, Charles F. Lewis Jr. and Jimmy Shorters; son, Brian Christopher Lewis; siblings, Albert Edmonds, Aaron Powell, Geraldine Edmonds, Annie Lois McKinney, and Lenford Powell; sister and brother-in-laws, Gwendolyn Shorters, Claudette Shorters, Freda Powell and Michael Shorters.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband; Charles Lewis; mother-in-law, Rosalee Shorters; children, Charles L. Lewis (Christi) and Marcus Lewis; grandchildren, Tyreez Moses , Shyanitta Gates, Jasper Gates, Alianna Lewis, Chris Lewis, Sydney Lewis, Charles Lewis, Qeunna Griffin, and Brian Lewis Jr.; siblings, Wendell (Wendy) Powell, Willie Edmonds, Reginald Powell (Natalie), Brenda Edmonds, and Pastor Prathan Powell (Sandy); sister and brother -in-laws, Barbara Shorters, Roselind Shorters, Susie Edmonds, Wandra Powell, Kenneth Shorters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2pm Sunday June 2, 2019 at the Lodge at Oaklawn, 4801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville Fl. 32207.
