Johnson; her son, Dennis Raymond; her granddaughter, Chalon Raymond; her parents Herbert and Regina Hoelscher; her sisters, Leona Hoelscher, Dorothy Corcoran, Floy Lee Hoelscher and Tina MacAdams; her brothers, Walter, Jerome, William, Frances, Richard and Edgar Hoelscher. Mary Louise was born, at home, on February 4, 1934 in Violet, Texas to Herbert and Regina Hoelscher. Her papa called her his “Lulu Pop” and her Mama taught her sewing, cooking and baking. Skills that came in handy in raising six energetic children. She loved baseball and the Brooklyn Dodgers and later the LA Dodgers. She was a big fan of Duke Snider. She later switched her loyalties to the Atlanta Braves and Chipper Jones. She was known for her sweet and joyful nature. She smiled often, laughed more, sang loud and off key and loved to dance. She loved being a mom and she adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She taught her children compassion, importance of hard work, commitment and to never underestimate the power of another slice of pie to diffuse an escalating dinnertime argument. Her mantra was “I don’t see why not”. She was creatively brilliant and boundlessly patient. In the eyes of her children, she was perfection. She will be remembered with love and celebrated for a life well lived. The family thanks Comfort Keepers, Mary Berridge and Community Hospice for their loving compassionate care.
