Mary Ann Cowart Guido peacefully passed away on September 5th, 2018 on her 82nd birthday. Ann was born in Summit, Georgia to Ella and Elton Cowart in 1936. As a young child, her family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she graduated from Jackson High School in 1955.
Ann loved gardening, cooking, coffee, and most importantly spending quality time with her grandchildren. She passed along her self-reliant nature to her children and grand children, spending countless hours offering support and guidance on everything from how to properly throw a football to a gentle reminder about changing the car oil. Her sacrificial love left a mark on all who knew her.
Ann is lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, John Guido Sr., children Elizabeth Romero, Samantha Stokes (Joseph B Stokes III), John Guido Jr., and Anthony Guido. Ann will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Mitsy Romero, Emmaline Stokes, Elizabeth Stokes, Landon Guido, and Avelyn Guido, as well as great- grandchildren Jacquline, Ciera, and Lexi Romero. Grandson, Shane Romero, preceded her in death.
An Open House will be held to celebrate Ann’s life at the home of Samantha and Joseph Stokes, 4651 Arapahoe Ave Jacksonville, Fl 32210 on Saturday, September 29th from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. HARDAGE-GIDDENS EDGEWOOD FUNERAL HOME 729 south Edgewood Avenue is serving the family.
