Mary Ellen Greenlee, 89, of Jacksonville, FL passed away October 6, 2010. Born July 10, 1921 in Mascot, TN. Mary moved to Jacksonville 57 years ago with her husband Frank Greenlee. The daughter of the late Burtram Lacus Noe and Lilly May Kirby Noe. She was a Professional Seamstress for many years before retiring.
She was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award from the Hubbard House, she also received The Golden Rule award from JC Penny and the Certificate of Appreciation from the Jacksonville Children’s Commission and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary #26. Mary volunteered for Hospice, making pink support pillows for women with breast cancer, raising money with book and garage sales. She also volunteered making blankets for Wolfsons Children’s Hospital. She was an active member of AARP, serving on the Jacksonville Board for many years. All of her volunteer involvements in the Jacksonville area gained her the City of Jacksonville volunteer of the year award.
She was preceeded in death by her brothers, James Noe and Robert Noe. She is survived by her daughter, Vanna Bea Willis and her husband, Thomas Edward Willis; grandson, Timothy A. Willis and his wife Kitty, granddaughter, Kathy D. Mahanke; great-grandchildren, Ashley T. Mahanke and Joshua A. Mahanke. Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday October 11, 2010 to service time which will be held at 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery.
