She was born in Memphis Tennessee on February 2, 1937. Although Mary went to school she did not graduate from high school, she did pursue and earn her GED later on in life.
She was married to Raymond Marion McDonald Jr. for more than 25 years and had three daughters Janice, Patricia and Marie with him. She was also married to her final partner in life, John Garner.
Mary worked in the service industry, mainly bartending for the VFW and The River Club. She was a member of the VFW and was fondly referred to as “Pitbull.” She had a passion for crossword puzzles, cats and bingo.
She is survived by her daughters Janice Lynn, Patricia Daniels (Michael) and Marie Ellsworth (Dave); grandchildren: Joshua, Kristen and Jennifer; Great-grandchildren: Lucas and Halley. She is also survived by her siblings Tracy Brown, Susan Rosen and Marci Robertson and preceded in death by Herman Lloyd Duran, Bobbie Duran, Henry Thomas Duran and Thelma Louise Whitehead.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10 AM on October 15, 2020 at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL32205.
In lieu of flowers we ask that family and friends donate to either VFW Post 7709 or Community Hospice.
