Mary Alice Bond, 86, passed away on June 13, 2021 in her home in Saint Johns, Florida with her family by her side. She was born to Thomas and Emily Smith on May 30, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio. While raising her family, she found time to graduate Magna Cum Laude in 1977 from Troy University with a BS degree. She then earned her MS in Management from Troy University in 1984.
Mary was immensely proud of her family and loved preparing large home cooked meals which were second to none! She loved watching sports and was musically inclined having played the violin and piano. After caring for her children through their younger years, she then worked in Civil Service at Eglin AFB and in Herndon, Va. She was an active member of San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church where she was a member in the church choir.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Ron. She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Kathy) of Ft. Myers, FL, and Rick (Rachel) of Allen, TX; daughter, Debbie Moore (Billy) of Edna, TX; grandchildren, Carla, Mary, Steven, Flora, Matthew, Kevin, Kristen, Jared, Kendall and McKenna; great grandchildren, Courtney, Dillon and Michael and great great grandchild, Aiden and Carter. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Pat Klecan of Cleveland, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church,1718 FL-13, St. Johns, FL 32259 on Monday, June 21 from 11 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service to be held at 1 p.m. in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218.
