Martha Wade Cowart

Martha Wade Cowart, age 96, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on January 27, 2023. She was born in Cordele, GA on October 23, 1926 to Perry Green Wade and Pearl Hudson Wade. She married Hudson Monroe Cowart on October 9, 1948.

Martha worked at J.M. Fields as a processing stock clerk and more recently as a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, Atlanta Braves baseball, walking and listening to gospel music. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years.

She is survived by daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Cowart Macik and husband Gary Macik; sons, Tom Cowart and wife Lisa Cowart and Donald Cowart and wife Pat Cowart; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father, Perry G. Wade; mother, Pearl H. Wade; loving husband of 56 years, Hudson M. Cowart; daughter, Sandra Cowart Pennell; and 3 brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to extend a Special Thanks to the Community Hospice and Palliative Care and the nursing staff at The Palms of Orange Park.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10am at Hardage-Giddens Riverside, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A Graveside Service will occur at 11:00 at Riverside Memorial Park following the visitation.
