Martha was born on November 15, 1922 in Georgia, but lived most of her life in Jacksonville, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three grandchildren, and Hughlan, her husband of fifty two years.
Martha was a beautiful, kind, and special lady. A compassionate, strong, and humble woman, Martha was always a devoted caregiver who put others before herself. The heart of a servant she possessed.
Martha lived an interesting life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She made ammunition boxes during WWII, retired from A&P bakery, and St. Catherine’s Nursing Home. She was a beautiful seamstress, enjoyed gardening, and was an amazing cook. Her chicken and dumplings and peach cobbler were the favorite of many. In her later years, she enjoyed court TV, gospel music, word puzzles, and crocheting. She was a lifelong lover of animals. Martha liked to attribute her longevity to living a healthy lifestyle and her hard work ethic.
Martha has been an inspiration to many and will be dearly missed.
