Mark Christian Lawson, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Monday, October 27, 2014, at the age of 69. He was born on July 30, 1945 in Portsmouth, Virginia, but spent most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida. Mark is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eva, his two children, Chad (April) Lawson and Holli (Doug) Tucci, four grandchildren, Isla Tucci, Taylor Wilson, Cheyanna Wilson, and Gregory Wilson, siblings Mike Lawson, Missy (John) Stimler, Angie (John) Bottensek, Dee (Gerald) Sourbeer, sister-in-law Sheryl Lawson, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Betty McLeod, and his step-father, Larry McLeod. Mark was an avid golfer and old car enthusiast. He enjoyed gardening, listening to loud music, and searching for the perfect barbecue and French fries. He was an instigator of foolishness. Above all, he was a kind-hearted man who loved his family and the Lord Jesus Christ. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 2:00-3:00pm at Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210. Funeral services will be held Thursday after the visitation at 3:00pm. Mark will be laid to rest on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00am at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
