Marilyn Sue Furnish went peacefully to sing with the heavenly angels on April 9, 2022. She was born July 11, 1934 in Lucerne, Indiana to Roy and Ruby Cotner. She moved to Lake City, Florida with her family in 1965, where she lived until moving to Jacksonville in 2018. She retired from the Florida Department of Transportation in Lake City, where she worked as a draftsman for over 25 years. She was a member of Wesley Memorial UMC, VFW Post 2206, and American Legion Post 57.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Furnish and her son, Barry Henry. She is survived by her other two sons Michael Henry (Sheri), Sebring, FL, Kevin Henry (Susan), Logansport, IN and daughter-in-law Bonnie Henry of Jacksonville, FL and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Internment service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Willowbrook Nursing Home and San Jose Gardens Alzheimer's Facility for the love and attention they gave her through her final years. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to Wesley Memorial UMC of Lake City, Fl. Funeral arrangements were made by Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel.
