Pinkie was born in Trinidad, West Indies to Leo and Solange deVerteuil. Her family moved to Drummondnville Quebec, Canada when she was five. She married the love of her life, Ernest Knowlton “Mac” McEachern April 20, 1946 and moved to Miami, Florida where they had seven children, five sons and two daughters. In 1972 she and Mac moved to Tallahasse and in 1999 to Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mac and her second son, John.
She will be most dearly missed by her family, including children, Pete, Mike (Adriana), Marilyn Wallen (Larry), Scott, Gus (Judy), Laurie Chambless (Raymond); daughter-in law, Ira; her 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The family will welcome friends at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (Main Church) 11757 Old St. Augustine Rd. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
