Margaret Jean Mueller passed away on June 3, 2015 after a fight with cancer. She died peacefully in the midst of her family, which is the way she would have wanted it. She was 83 years young. She was born to George and Inga Wetzel in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She grew up on the dairy farm that her father owned and operated. Margaret was educated at the local high school and then the University of Wisconsin for nursing. She worked as a nurse for several years before starting her family. Her family was her true passion in life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Edward Mueller, her sister Helen Valley and her parents. She lived in Wisconsin earlier in life, but then moved around a bit after she got married. Connecticut, Virginia and then Florida where she has resided the last 50 plus years. She is survived by son Lynn Mueller, daughter-in-law Norma Mueller, daughter Karen Myers, son-in-law Tim Myers, grandchildren Danny Mueller (Alicia) and Melissa Moore (Matt). She had 3 great grandchildren, Mason and Jaxson Mueller and Elizabeth Moore. She had 9 nephews and nieces. Margaret Mueller was affectionately known as Peg. She was also known as Mom, Nana and Aunt Peg. She was a very devoted mother and will be missed by all who knew her. Peg was very crafty as she liked to knit, quilt, sew, cross stitch and the like. She often made homemade gifts for Christmas and birthdays for her friends and family. Peg was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and attended Holy Cross Lutheran and St. Matthew’s in Jacksonville, Florida. Visitation will be at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin on Saturday, June 13 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at St. Matthew’s Church, 6801 Merrill Road, Jacksonville, FL 32277. A light supper will follow the service at the church. Interment will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
