Margaret “Margie” Ellen Erickson Coursey, age 73, passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Baptist South Hospice after a short illness. Margie was born at St Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida on February 1, 1947. She was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, graduating from Ribault High School in 1964, where she was a cheerleader. She also attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. She had a successful career as an executive administrative assistant for several attorneys and businesses throughout her life. She eventually retired from AT&T Universal Card to enjoy a life with family and friends.
Margie is predeceased by parents Marguerite Frances Wright Erickson & Vernon Theodore Erickson, and son-in-law, David Ellis Crenshaw. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Danielle (Harold) Boyett, and Stephanie Crenshaw, her precious grandchildren, Ashley and Christian Smith, and Bryce, Davis, and Leah Crenshaw, all of St John’s County, sister Pattie (Joe) Lewis, Maitland, Florida, niece, Vicki Lewis, Orlando, Florida, and Nephews Michael Lewis, Oviedo, Florida, and Robert Lewis (Cathy), Roswell, Georgia, cousins Robert Wright (Patti), and Mary (Joe) Allen, Barnesville, Georgia, and several great nephews and nieces.
A special thank you to the teams of doctors and nurses at Baptist South Hospital and Hospice who gave their all caring for Margie. Margie was an avid bird watcher and loved her three cats, Emma, Ethan, and Gibbs. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends.
