Hi Mom
I can’t believe that it’s been a whole year since you’ve been gone.  Life goes on as it certainly has for all of us.  But with each new chapter I found myself wanting to share the news with you just like in the past.  I know that you are happy with all our loved ones and that gives me great peace and comfort.  It was a little harder this season without you there to ooh and aah over each new ornament on the tree.  This was always our favorite time of year seeing the Christmas decorations going up and it was such fun looking for the perfect gift.  But I had a sense of peace and joy that you were cheering me on, and I love you for that.  We are all fine Mom.  You did a good job raising the next generation.  God said Well done my faithful servant.  Thank you for the love and earthly tools that you gave me to follow in your footsteps.

Dear Mom

It’s our first Mother’s Day without you.  To say I miss you would be an understatement.  You were my inspiration and your constant love held me up.  I celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday with my brothers and their families and they were a constant reminder that none of us would be here if it wasn’t for you, for all you gave us through the years.  I love you mom.


TODAY WE CELEBRATE YOUR 95TH BIRTHDAY.  LOVE FROM ALL YOUR CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND YOUR SISTERS.

The smiles never ended when Margaret was with her grandkids. Pictured from the back is Paul Conte who once told her after listening to her heart through a stethoscope that it sounded like people dancing!  She laughed so hard she cried!!

Christmas has always been our favorite time of year and we have enjoyed celebrating with family.

Family is a gift from God and we are comforted by remembering all the happy times we shared.

Dear Mom,

today your ashes and our tears were laid to rest.  Some of your loved ones were physically there with you while others who were far away were in prayer for you.  A sweet friend told me that you would come to me in little things today and that I should be watching for them.  I was praying at 10:00 am when your service was starting.  It has been a long cold dreary week but at 10:00 am today the sun came out with all it’s glorious rays for the time of your service.  Then a wave of peace washed over my soul.  Pat just told me that during the service there was no wind at all which made the weather milder and quiet for a beautiful service.  God also sent my friend to remind me how He has ordered our steps, held us up in good times and in bad, and answered our simple prayers.  I love you Mom and will miss you till the end of my days. 


Dear Mom,

I miss you so, more and more every day.  You taught me so much: taking care of my brothers, to cook especially for a big family and how to love and respect others.  You prepared me for life and a family of my own.  You gave me wisdom and your nursing life skills to care for my family.  Countless times people would ask me if I was a nurse, and my reply was always no but I was raised by one of the finest nurses my mom.  You taught me to be compassionate, a quality that I always admired in you.  
I fondly remember all the shopping trips that you and I took on the train from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to New York City, the last one to find my wedding dress.  Then several years later when I would drive from Jacksonville to Gainesville, Fl. to pick you up, so we could take a day trip to Altamonte Springs, FL to the newest and largest indoor mall in the country at the time.  I also shared and enjoyed your love of antiquing and gardening.
You and Dad loved to move every three years and you taught me from 9 years old to be organized and proficient in packing, a skill that I would use for my family and for you for many years to come.  One of your last moves was to live with our family for over eight years and I will always cherish that close yet short time we spent together.  Then came your move to the nursing home.  Little did I know that I would be unable to see you for ten months because of Covid.  But I will be eternally grateful to God for the last two months of your life when things started to get back to normal and John and I could visit you daily in your room.
You had a special way of communicating your needs to me even when you couldn’t speak.  You let me know what you needed before you could go to be with our Lord.  You imparted your thanks and a final sense of peace and gratitude to me with your last three tears and I knew we were all okay and ready to say goodbye.  You left me with your worldly goods to pack one last time and it was my honor to do so.
