Marcia Ann Donaldson

She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on April 22, 1956 to her parents, Erma and Carl Racine. Beloved siblings are: Dale, Dwight, Carla, & Jennifer. Marcia spent her early childhood on the family farm in Lamar, Indiana and moved with her family to Jacksonville in the 1960s. She graduated from Wolfson High School in 1974.

Marcia began her career at Blue Cross & Blue Shield after graduating high school, and over the course of her 20+ year career, rose to manager of the IT department, teaching herself computer programming while raising her three children: Sara, Erin, and Jason. No matter how busy she was, she made time for school events, family trips and other happy memories. In addition to her children, Marcia treasured her “bonus kids”, many beloved nieces and nephews.

After retiring, Marcia devoted even more time to caring for others. She had many talents including cooking, sewing, artistic &creative endeavors, and was always on the hunt for a new adventure. She loved her family, friends, and pets with her whole heart. That love shone through with her many acts of kindness. We will miss her delicious food, silly songs, and unique sense of humor.

Marcia passed peacefully in her home on March 20, 2022. We all feel the loss deeply of this wonderful woman, sister, mother, aunt, and friend. May we honor her life by continuing her example of love and kindness to others
