SHE WAS A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF JACKSONVILLE, AND A GRADUATE OF JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL.
LOUISE WAS MARRIED FOR 50 YEARS TO THE LOVE OF HER LIFE, LONNIE C. PICKETT, JR., UNTIL HIS PASSING IN 2006. TOGETHER THEY BUILT TRUCK AND TRAILER REFRIGERATION SERVICE, INC., STILL IN BUSINESS TODAY.
LOUISE WAS A MEMBER OF THE HYDE PARK BAPTIST CHURCH. SHE WAS ALSO A MEMBER OF "THE DAUGHTERS OF THE NILE", AN ORGANIZATION WORKING WITH CRIPPLED AND BURNED CHILDREN. SHE PROUDLY SERVED AS QUEEN OF THAT ORGANIZATION IN 1971.
AMONG HER MANY PLEASURES, LOUISE LOVED READING HER BIBLE, COOKING, AND TRAVELING. SHE PARTICULARLY ENJOYED TAKING CRUISES.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER SON RONALD K. PICKETT, AND HIS WIFE DEB-BIE, OF JACKSONVILLE; DAUGHTER RITA P. RATCLIFFE, AND HER HUSBAND KENNETH, OF FERNANDINA BEACH; AND THREE GRAND-DAUGHTERS; MACY, RACHEL, AND SARAH.
SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2017, AT EDGEWOOD CEMETERY, 4519 EDGEWOOD DR., JACKSONVILLE, AT 10:00 AM.
