Louis "Louie" Andrew Rose, age 51, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Louie was born February 16, 1971 in Cornwall, New York. He was known as Louie the Barber, and owned since 1998 Louie's Barber Shop off Rogero Road in Jacksonville, Florida. Louie also proudly served in the US Navy, where he also was a barber. He was a perfectionist with his work, and many would wait for hours to be able to have their haircut by him.
Louie was an avid and passionate New York Giants fan. His barbershop, home, and his big red truck were decked out with Giants memorabilia. He also enjoyed golf, was very competitive, and played high school football. He was also honorably mentioned in his hometown newspaper in Cornwall when he attended Cornwall Central Highschool.
He enjoyed NASCAR, went to Daytona several times for the races, and he also enjoyed driving to Huguenot Beach on Sundays. He also enjoyed fishing, taking out his jet skis, and was known as an adrenaline seeker. He also went bungee jumping in Australia.
He went skydiving when he was given news regarding his health, and it was on his bucket list to skydive.
He also enjoyed a Billy Joel concert, and he spent the last six months of his life with his long time and devoted companion, Jennifer, enjoying quality time together.
Louie loved his family and friends. He is survived by his loving companion of 17 years, Jennifer Wilds; his mother, Deborah Trenholm (Jim); his son, Dominick Andrew Rose (wife Kayla Brione Jernigan); one granddaughter Rain Malia Rose; brothers Preston Crossman, Cory Crossman, and Chip Crossman; his cousin Sarah Bayne; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Louis Rose and Helen Rose.
A visitation for Louie will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. A committal service will occur Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, with military honors.
