Linda Faye Thigpen

Linda was born in Live Oak, FL to Molly and James Rogers on September 1, 1949. She began her career with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida after graduating from Paxon High School in 1967. On December 8, 1967, she married the love of her life, Gene Thigpen.

Linda joined the Marietta Church of God in 1982 and has been a faithful member for almost 40 years. She has also served her church as a Sunday School teacher, secretary/treasurer of the Ladies Ministries, director of finances and has been the church treasurer from 2008 to the present. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida after 41 years and made lifelong friendships with her Medicare Part A group. Linda always enjoyed traveling and loved her trips to the mountains, with a stop at Dollywood to see the Kingdom Heirs. But most of all, her favorite role was being a mama and she definitely loved being Nanny to her 6 grandchildren.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Molly and James Rogers and her brother Kelly Rogers.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Eddie Gene Thigpen. She will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Christopher (Kerry) Thigpen and Kimberly Knowles and her 6 grandchildren, Breanna Thigpen, Clay Knowles, Camryn Thigpen, Zachary Thigpen, Emma Knowles and Drew Knowles, her brother Larry (Vicky) Rogers, nieces and nephews and countless friends.

A visitation for Linda will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Marietta Church of God, 8076 Ramona Blvd W, Jacksonville, FL 32221. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 3, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 8076 Ramona Blvd W, Jacksonville, FL 32221. A graveside service will occur Friday, September 3, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
