Born and raised in Randolph County, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles Truman and Cassie Spencer Johnson, Linda moved to Jacksonville, FL after attending the University of Arkansas. She worked for GMAC Financing and Barnett Bank Regency where she was beloved by her co-workers and customers alike. In retirement Linda cherished her family and friends and never missed the opportunity to enjoy their company. She also enjoyed gardening, NASCAR, and especially watching Jaguar’s football.
Linda is survived by her three sons and four grandchildren who will miss her dearly; Phillip Smith, his wife Tina and their children Sean and Kailee; Mitchell Smith, his wife Karen and their children Matthew and Jennifer; and Russell Smith who lived with her. She is also survived by her sister Loretta McKnight of New Smyrna Beach, FL and her brother John Johnson of Pocahontas, AR.
There will be a celebration of Linda’s life from 3pm to 5pm Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home at 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL. There will also be an internment ceremony at the Maynard Cemetery in Maynard, Randolph County, Arkansas at a date to be determined.
