Linda Fay McMillan Singletary was born to the late Arthur and Vera McMillan in Jacksonville, Florida on August 22, 1949. She attended St. Pius V Catholic School until eighth grade and graduated from William M. Raines High School in 1967. After completing two years at Edward Waters College, she fell in love with and married Lee Vandosth Singletary. The couple remained married for 31 years until Lee's death in 2001. To their union were born two daughters, Lori and Lahn Singletary. Linda's occupation was "homemaker" for most of her married years. After becoming widowed, she was employed with Duval County Public Schools as a paraprofessional. Linda served as a "para" at Rufus E. Payne, Carter G. Woodson, and Atlantic Beach Elementary until retirement. Linda transitioned from her earthly home on May 28, 2021. She was preceded in death by her sister Lori McMillan and brothers Stephan, Arthur, and Brian McMillan. She leaves the following loved ones to cherish her memory: daughters Lori Turner (Royce) and Lahn Singletary; brothers Larry (Beverly), Michael, Mark, and Patrick McMillan; brother-in-law Richard Singletary and sisters-in-law Helen Mitchell and Mildred Wilcox; grandchildren Royce, Sydney, and Silas Turner; nephews Eric and Mark McMillan; niece Ada McMillan; grandnephews Javon and Eric McMillan and grandnieces Elyasia and Vera McMillan; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and special friends.
