Linda Carol (Bowles) Mickler, 74, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on January 21, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on October 21, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Milton Culbert Bowles and Burnez Ethridge Bowles. Linda was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Milton Anthony Bowles.
Linda was a deeply religious person and found great joy in her faith. She was an active and dedicated member of her church community at Southside United Methodist Church. She also devoted much of her time to the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a Philanthropic Educational Organization. Linda was initiated into Chapter 8 of PEO in 2003 where she held the office of president for 4 years and recording secretary for 2 years.
Linda's main love in life was her husband of 49 years, Russell Mickler. The couple married on December 21, 1974, and enjoyed 49 years of happiness together.
In her free time, Linda enjoyed the outdoors, nature, cooking, gardening, historical studies, traveling and most of all, her love for her animals. She found solace in nature and cherished her time outdoors.
Additionally, she loved spending time and sharing with her three stepchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life, as well as her niece and nephew.
Linda had a successful career as an Administrative Assistant with Mac Paper Company in Jacksonville, Florida. She dedicated many years of service to the company before her retirement.
Linda was a graduate of Paxon Sr. High School in Jacksonville, Fl. She furthered her education at Jacksonville University, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. She was also a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
Linda will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her husband, Russell Mickler, and all of Russ' children: Lynn Fox and her son Andrew Fox; Leslie Grubin, her husband Marty and children Lindsay Grubin Wong, Davis Grubin and Jack Grubin; Claire Hackett, her husband Chip and children Grace Hackett and Ray Hackett. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis E. Bowles; sister-in-law, Cindy Thompson Bowles; niece and her husband, Shelley B. and Christopher Green and their 3 children Jackson, Harrison & Addison; nephew and his wife, Anthony A. and Joy Bowles and their 3 children Kent, Eli & Laney; and niece and her husband, Shannon M. and Brandon W. Jeans with her 2 children, and nephew Daniel C. Bean.
A memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at The Southside Methodist Church Chapel, 3120 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL on February 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
