1958-2023
Linda Jean Herro, 64, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was a three (3) time cancer surviver, and passed peacefully after a protracted battle with pneumonia and blood infection. She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 40 years, Kahlil Herro; their children Joseph Herro, Charles Herro (Samantha), Kalee Adair (Jonathan), Michael Herro, and Nicholas Herro; her siblings Joanne Herro, James Mussallem (Kristi), and Marlene Mussallem Soud (Danny); her four (4) precious grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own children; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Charles Saleem Mussallem, Jr. and Marie Cecelia Mussallem, and her siblings Rosemarie D’Amour and Charles Saleem Mussallem, III.
Linda was born on November 13, 1958, in Jacksonville, FL. She attended elementary school at Assumption Catholic School, graduated from Bishop Kenny High School, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and University of North Florida, and earned a Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University. She was admitted to both the Florida and Arizona Bars, and devoted her entire legal career to serving the needs of her family’s businesses and estates, both the Mussallem’s and the Herro’s, as in-house counsel. She fiercely loved her family, and constantly advocated for them. In addition to motherhood, her greatest joy and pride was as “Sitti” to her grandchildren.
Linda was a devout Catholic, and a vessel of God’s grace. She was completely selfless, and gave of herself completely in all she did. She loved to cook, through which she demonstrated love and her endless hospitality. Linda was a leader and advisor to her family, friends, and community. She was admired for her strength, loyalty, faith, and devotion. Those who were blessed to be a part of her life witnessed an unparalleled generosity uniquely coupled with a quiet strength and grace. She was an inspiration to everyone around her, and will be greatly missed and always remembered. Linda was, and continues to be, a spiritual touchstone that provides the physical embodiment of God’s enduring hope, grace, and selfless, complete love.
Visitation and prayers will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023, followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, FL, 32206 (Gate 4).
