Linda Waded Ghanayem, age 64, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida where she spent her entire life. Linda graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then from Jacksonville University. For the past 40 years, she was a devoted teacher of science at Jean Ribault Senior High School. She truly had a great love for her students, her work, and her school. Recently, Linda was honored by the PTSA for her many years of dedication, faithfulness, and loyalty as the longest serving teacher in the school’s history. In addition to her time with Duval County Schools, she spent many years working with dear friends at Jill Stevens Bridal Salon. Linda cherished her family both near and far. Any opportunity to spend time with loved ones was a blessing to her. She always looked forward to these special family gatherings. She had many dear friends that brought so many joyful moments to her life. She truly treasured her time spent with the “Friday Night Bunch”.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, David and Rose Ghanayem; and her sister, Mary Ghanayem. She is survived by her two sisters, Janet (Wade) Barlow and Helen Ghanayem; her loving aunts; uncles; and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following visitation at 7:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3 at 10:00 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 2609 Park Street, Jacksonville, Florida. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
