Linda W. Chaney

Linda W. Chaney passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 21, 2019. She was born to the late Ancel and Leona Woods on February 5, 1939, in Brookfield, Missouri. A longtime resident of Jacksonville, Linda was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and attended Florida State University where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

Linda loved working in the travel industry, first with Delta Airlines for over 17 years and then with Akra Travel/Navigant/Carlson Wagonlit Travel for over 13 years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing and listening to all types of music, later working as a member of the sales team for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Linda also loved to garden and was a wonder with African violets. She was a voracious reader and loved to cook for her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years Donald J. Chaney in 2015. She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her children Stephen (Shari) of Jacksonville, Terry (Cathy), Garry, Randy, Karen, and Reggie Chaney; fifteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

The visitation will take place on Friday, January 25, 2019, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205, with a private family graveside service immediately following.
