Lillie Wise Howard

Lillie Howard, age 82, passed away on August 26, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL. Lillie was born on March 6, 1940 to Purdie and Margaret Wise in Newton Grove, NC. She worked as a nurse and as a homemaker. When she was younger she enjoyed going to the gym and has always loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and serving others. She also attended the Dinsmore Church of God.

Lillie is preceded in death by her first husband Landley V. Howard; her youngest son Bennie (Hayes) Jeffris; sister Janice Smith and brother Bruce Wise.

She is survived by her second husband William F. Hughes of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Evelyn Miller (Raymond) of Macclenny, FL; son Ronnie (Hayes) Jeffris (Marsha) of Mt. Olive, NC; daughter Faye Westbrook (Doug) of Mt. Olive, NC; and daughter Elizabeth Smith (Joe) of Goldsboro, NC.

Lillie had eleven grandchildren Terri Bowers, Karen Lockley, Alex Westbrook, Chris Westbrook, Tasha Bollin, Mona George, Michelle Johnson, Lillie Dawn Ellis, Rhonda Perish, Johnny McCullen, Ashley Smith; and also eighteen great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral service will occur Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
