Life Overview: Leslie Ann Carroll Miller was born on August 28, 1951, in Florence, Alabama, to Robert Carroll and Janice O’Neal. She graduated from Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama, where she was a proud member of the school’s dance team. After marrying, Leslie moved to Jacksonville, FL, where she dedicated many years to being a stay-at-home mom before later becoming a certified medical assistant. Later in life, after remarrying, she embraced retirement, finding joy in caring for her husband, her home, her pets, and through volunteering.
Family Information: Leslie is survived by her husband, Paul Miller II; her daughter, Dena Shelton Turner; her granddaughter, Kylie Turner; her step-son, Paul Miller III; her mother, Janice Henry; her stepfather, Robert Henry; her brothers, Tim Henry and Joel Carroll; and her nephews, Cole Henry, Joe Carroll, and Clay Carroll. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Carroll; her stepmother, Ruth Carroll; and her step-son, Allen Miller.
Personal Life and Legacy: Leslie Ann Miller will be fondly remembered for her passion for books and reading, her love of plants and animals, and the excitement she found in cheering for her favorite college and professional football teams. A true treasure hunter, she took great delight in discovering the best deals during every shopping spree. In her later years, Leslie devoted herself to community service, dedicating many years to the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, where she also served as President.
Leslie had a heart full of love, a gentle and kind spirit, and boundless compassion that always put others first. Her sense of humor was as limitless as the cherished moments she shared with her many friends and family members.
Funeral Arrangements: A funeral service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the American Legion after the new year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society @jaxhumane.org
