Larry Albert McDonald, 60, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Viewing will be from 6 – 8 pm on Monday, October 6 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home 729 South Edgewood Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32205. A celebration of life service will begin at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 7 at 11 am and will conclude at Riverside Memorial Park 7242 Normandy Boulevard Jacksonville, FL 32205. Pastor Ricky Roberts will be officiating.
Larry was born on October 19, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL to Rachel & Larry McDonald. On April 4, 1970 he married Linda and began a family right away. Larry was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. He enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering in the garage, enjoying the outdoors, experiencing nearly everything with his twin brother, Barry and was always there to lend a helping hand to a friend or a family member.
Larry, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, worked out on the island overseeing many different aspects of the auto industry for over 40 years and leaves behind an endless number of colleagues and dear friends. He was passionate about his career and he touched the lives of countless men and women who were fortunate to call Larry their friend.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda McDonald and his two daughters, Laura (Rob) Cariveau & Shannon (Shawn) Young, his twin brother Barry McDonald, brother David McDonald, sister Diane Bretz, his grandchildren Jaclyn Drawdy, Courtney Cariveau, Ally Young, Brooke Young and his great-grandchild Lilly Drawdy.
