Kelly D. Allen

Kelly D. Allen, 46, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 14, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on July 21, 1964 in Jacksonville, FL to Mr. Jessie V. Allen and Mrs. Nancy Carolyn Goss Allen. Kelly’s passion was cooking on the grill for family and friends along with spending time in the yard with his grandsons. He also enjoyed nurturing an almost dead blueberry bush back to life (which is blooming like crazy) that belonged to his mom. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Nancy. He is survived by his wife, Tammy L. Allen; son, Christopher Allen; daughters, Crystal and Melody Allen; grandsons, Aiden and Colton; siblings, Denise Stephens (Emory), Wendell Allen, and Karen Byrd (Adam); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00am, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park of Jacksonville, FL.
