He was preceded in his death by his brother, Charles & sister, Maryland Klassy.
Keith is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlotte Reed Hall; sons, Douglas (Laura), Bruce (Gretchen), & David (Deniese). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Valerie, Malcom, Micheala, Morgan, Meredith, Clay, Reed, and Spencer; and his dog, Bella.
Keith graduated from Le Roy Public High school in 1946, attended Macalester College receiving his BA in chemistry and M Ed. Degree. He was drafted into the army in 1951 where he served for 2 years. Keith returned to Le Roy after the army to teach math at his high school for a short time. He turned his interest to Foreign Service, attending Georgetown University in Washington DC., where he received his degree in 1955.
Keith began his Capitol Hill career with Sen. Thye's office as Assistant to the Legislative Assistant. “The best highlight in DC, was meeting Charlotte Reed whose beautiful smile captivated me at first sight.” They married on September 28, 1957.
He continued his career on Capitol Hill for 30 years. In 1987 he and Charlotte moved to Jacksonville FL, and began raising orchids until 2007. Member of the Jacksonville Orchid Society and becoming a judge, Keith enjoyed sharing his new passion with all who would listen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 31st in Geneva Presbyterian Church, 1755 State Rd. 13 Jacksonville, FL 32259.
