Katherine “Honey” Wigglesworth, 91 years old, passed away March 25, 2018 at home. She was born in Waycross, Georgia on September 19, 1926. She graduated from Waycross High School. Katherine was a stay at home mom who loved family gatherings and working in the garden. She was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church.
Katherine was the daughter of James Lee Barnes and Bessie Edenfield Barnes. She was married to the late Clyde M. Wigglesworth and was preceded in death by grandson, David Todd Ward; daughter, Jimmie Faye Hodge; sisters, Juanita Anderson, Clema Cribb, Jerry Dickson, and Barbara Wynn; and two brothers, Jack Barnes and Donald Barnes. She is survived by daughter, Lynda Gayle Ward (Bill); three grandchildren, William Ward, Jr., Christine Scheutzow (Sean) and Hal Hodge (Tonya); four great grandchildren, Briauna and Alysa Ward, Clayton and Brooke Scheutzow; two great great granddaughters Zoe and Madison; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hill Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 12:00pm with Reverend William “Manny” Keyser officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkwood Baptist Church.
