Karen graduated from Nathan Bedford Forrest in 1961 and last worked as a Guidance Office Clerk and retired from Lavilla School of the Arts. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Morganton, Georgia. Karen loved attending church and singing in the choir. Her greatest passion was singing songs of salvation, love, joy, and deliverance. She also enjoyed taking cruises with her husband, family and friends.
Karen was predeceased by her father, Clem Boatright; mother, Carolyn Boatright; daughter, Tanya Lynn; and grandson Garry Owen.
Karen is survived by her husband Garry Scroggins; daughter Lori Snedden and son-in-law Larry Snedden; grandchildren Justin; Lauren; Rachel; and Everett; greatgrandchild Kai all from Jacksonville, Florida. Her sisters Jan Kelly (Avery) Lake Park, Georgia; Lynn Thomas (Wayne) Brevard, North Carolina; brothers Clem Boatright (Valerie) Blairsville, Georgia; Russell Boatright (Kellie) Gallatin, Tennessee.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, July 17th at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:30 am, at Switzerland Community Church, 2179 SR-13, Saint Johns, Florida 32259. Pastor Wesley Slough will officiate the service and Pastor Avery Kelly will share additional words of comfort.
