Karen Diane Heekin

Karen Diane Heekin, 68, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She was beautifully and fervently dedicated to being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, nurse, and neighbor. Karen is survived by her children, Kacey (Sophie), Karly, and Geoffrey (Ella), her mother, Nancy (Robert), and many other family members, such as her sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Geoffrey. Since she was little, Karen was incredibly skilled at building connections with others and spreading warmth and kindness to all. She loved and cared deeply, was a true guardian and nurturer, and continuously encouraged her family to explore the beauty of the world, as well as within themselves. Karen was a retired nurse and the undeniable heart of her home, playing a very active role in her children’s lives, including as homeroom mom and team mom. Karen’s family is so grateful for her unwavering love, light, and joy. She will be profoundly missed, but eternally adored.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Church of the Assumption. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wolfson Children’s Hospital. In the care of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home.
