Julius W. Buck Weaver, 82, passed away Sept. 26, 2011 after a courageous year long struggle with illness. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothea Gerber Weaver, daughter Beatrice Betsy Weaver, sister Katharine Weaver Simms, many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Born in Jacksonville Sept. 23, 1929 to Julius Gideon and Estelle Kelly Weaver, he left to serve his country in the U. S. Army. He returned to Jacksonville after serving 30 years and retired as a Sergeant Major. He embodied the motto Army Strong throughout his life inspiring all who knew and loved him. Buck lived a life of service to his church, community and friends. He was a member and Deacon of Riverside Primitive Baptist Church and honorary member of St. Pauls' Catholic Church. He shared freely his many talents, including cooking, writing, gardening, and photography. The family would like to express gratitude for the wonderful community of caregivers at Mayo Clinic, St. Vincents Medical Center, Brooks Rehabilitation Center, Life Care Center at Wells Crossing, and special thanks to St. Pauls' congregants and the loving minister and members of Riverside Primitive Baptist Church. As an expression of love and sympathy contributions may be made to Riverside Primitive Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home Wednesday, from 7:00p.m. until 9:00p.m., Sept. 28, 2011 729 S. Edgewood Ave. Jacksonville, Fl. Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday Sept. 29, 2011 at Riverside Primitive Baptist Church 702 Dellwood Ave. Jacksonville, Fl. with interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Rd.
