Julia Joseph, 89, a life long resident of Florida, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born on September 16,1921 in Jacksonville, Florida, daughter of the late Abraham and Rose (Khouri) Joseph. Julia was very creative and loved fashion, frequently designing her own clothes and having them made. She was a born sales person, and spent her entire career in that field. Her first job was in specialty advertising and went on to work for Maron and Sons Furniture as one of their top sales people. She moved to Miami, Florida with her two sons and excelled at real estate until her retirement. Julia loved to travel which included two trips to Lebanon. She was very proud of her heritage, speaking fluent Arabic and preparing many outstanding Arabic dishes for her family and friends. Many of her friends with the same ethnicity were from Venezuela, Haiti and Jamaica. Julia never met a stranger and had an outgoing personality which allowed her to enjoy life to its fullest. Her two sons were her pride and joy. Julia was predeceased by her sisters, Alice Murray and Elizabeth Aboud, and brothers, Fred, Eddie, Ralph and Ernest Joseph. Surviving are her sons Charles Joseph (Margaret) and Farris Skipper Joseph. Her grandchildren: Charles Joseph II (Lottie), Christina Joseph and Bryan Joseph (Valerie). Her great grandchildren: Abby, Andrew and Adam. Her sister: Frances Joseph, and many nieces and nephews. The Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 30th from 7-9 p.m. at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. The funeral will be Wednesday, August 31st at 11 a.m. at San Jose Episcopal Church, 7423 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32217. Burial will follow at Oaklawn cemetery.
