Joyce D. Tillman

1927-2021

Joyce Tillman, loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 21st at age 93. Preceded in death were her parents Corrie and James Drake. Joyce was born and raised in Hilliard, she attended Hilliard High School and graduated in 1947. She was married to Robert Tillman in 1948 until his passing in November 1991. Joyce was lucky enough to find another soul mate in Bob Smith and spent the next 18 years with him until he went to meet the Lord.

Joyce worked at United Foods for a number of years and then was a homemaker. She was a long time member of Moose 2020 on Collins Rd. and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed dancing and going on cruises. Later in life she met Gene Engle was a very special friend to her.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Robert J. Tillman and Keland Coy Tillman (Margie), 5 grandchildren; David Joseph, Joshua, Evan, and Sarah. 11 great-grandchildren; Hannah, Andrew, Micah, Sarahbeth, Benjamin, Gabby, Joseph Jr., Blakelynn, Logan, Leah Grace and Trey. She is also survived by her brother James Drake (Ruby), special niece Ginger Jackowitz (Roy) and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will occur Friday, August 27, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
