Joy Recla, a beautiful soul, has broken free from the terrible bonds of pain to soar to her reward. Joy was an educator, parent and wife who put all of her energy and commitment into all she did. She showed everyone she met what character and love could do. She lived a life guided by right values and positive thoughts, and infused them in everyone she met. Joy was an educator, and retired as principal of Mandarin Middle School, which she led to ten years of “A” ratings. Her life was a beacon to all. She leaves behind her mother, Beverly Ford; husband of 48 years, Daniel; children, Amy Joy, Claire Joy and Thomas Alan; brothers, Randal, Donald and Robert, and a rich mixture of 11 wonderful grandchildren. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
A Celebration of Joy’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 5th in the Westminster Woods of Julington Creek Auditorium, 25 FL-13, Jacksonville, FL 32259. Memorial contributions may be made to www.pulmonarypaper.org, the American Lung Association, or Community Hospice of NE Florida.
