Joshua Woodard grew up in the heart of the Peach State, Macon, Georgia. At age 20, Joshua moved to Jacksonville, Florida. It was here he met his beloved wife, Sandi Woodard, and started a family with her. Together, Joshua and Sandi Woodard have three children, Christopher Woodard (18), Jaxson Woodard (5), and Aleah Woodard (2).
Joshua was a remarkably hardworking man, dedicating every day to providing for his family. Even with the losses and detriments he’s been through in life, he came out on top. He remained strong, vigil. He remained fun, as he was the life of the party. Whether it be late-night hangouts around a bonfire in the backyard, or late-night family hangouts, Joshua made every situation into a fun one.
Growing as no stranger to struggles and loss, Joshua made it his mission to provide better for his wife and children. He would stop at no end to spoil his children to the best of his ability, whether it be a quick visit to a store for his kids to pick out a toy, or surprising everyone with takeout after a long day of work.
Joshua was an incredibly loving, sentimental, caring, and forgiving individual. He would often give those around him the benefit of the doubt, even if they were in the wrong. He chose to see the good in others despite the circumstances.
While on this Earth, Joshua buried his father, Christopher Woodard and his mother Claudette Jones. Even through all of his strife, he held himself together for his family. He lives through his wife and children; they were his life, the reason he woke up in the morning. Joshua was also a loving and caring uncle to his many nieces and nephews, always there to lend a helping hand and advice when needed.
Joshua was there for his younger brother, William Long, and took him in as his own. Although he never looked at him as anything other than a brother, he was there for him like a father.
Joshua was exactly what you’d picture when hearing the phrase “Tall, dark, and handsome.”
Standing at 6’, he had broad shoulders and beautiful blue eyes. His soft lips were those of an angel’s.
Joshua’s genes will live on through his three children. Each of which possess traits unique to themselves that they share with their father.
Christopher possesses his father’s eyes and looks; Jaxson possesses Joshua’s protective, but sensitive qualities; while Leah possesses Joshua’s unending love for life as she finds joy and laughter in everything, just as her father.
One thing all of Joshua’s children have in common is that sweet, crooked smile. Joshua will forever watch over his three beautiful children.
Joshua truly loved life, he loved his family, and he loved his friends. A wonderful husband and father gone too soon. Rest in piece, our loyal protector.
Joshua Woodard is survived by his wife Sandi Woodard (40) and their three children; Christopher Woodard (18), Jaxson Woodard (5), and Aleah Woodard (2).
