Joseph Michael is survived by his loving sons, Mike (Julie) and Brian (Tiffany Fader); his loving granddaughters, Megan, Abbey, Lauren, Audrey Moody and Avery. He is further survived by his siblings, Bob (Kathleen), Patrick, Debbie McNelly (Mike), Christopher (Beth) and Tina Hughes; brothers-in-law, Robert Hayes (Lynn) and John Hayes (Peggy) along with many nieces and nephews.
Joseph Michael is preceded in death by his loving wife, Christina; his parents, Robert and Mary, brother, Gregory; and in-laws, Robert and Mary Hayes.
Joseph Michael proudly graduated from De Matha Catholic High School in his hometown of Hyattsville, Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland and was honored to serve his country in the United States Air Force including the DC Air National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1990 from Randolph, New Jersey. He worked in Information Technology before retiring from AT&T in 1996. Joseph Michael had a green thumb he inherited from his father and had a yard full of beautiful flowers. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf, tennis and loved watching the Jaguars. Joseph Michael was a devout Catholic, Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed doing a weekly rosary with his family across the country.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 19th from 10am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45am in St. Joseph’s Main Catholic Church, 11757 Old St. Augustine Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32258. The Graveside Service will be at 1:30pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
