Joseph M. Howard

Joseph M. Howard, Sr., age 83, of Middleburg, FL passed away on March 30, 2023. He was born in Middleburg, FL on October 9, 1939 to Harry M. Howard and Ruth E. Howard. He graduated from Clay High School, Class of 1956, and was voted the “Most Friendliest.” He married Nola M. Howard on January 29, 1960. Joseph worked for the railroad, worked as a car salesman, and retired from the United States Postal Service, Jacksonville Bulk Mail Center, after 26-1/2 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Many special memories were made taking his children and grandchildren fishing and hunting. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Middleburg.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Nola Howard; daughter, Janice Edenfield (Leon); son, Joseph Howard, Jr. (Lorri); grandchildren, Sarah Reinhardt (Kevin), Alana Edenfield, Amanda Howard and Kaitlyn Howard; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Asher, Deacon, Rhaylen, Charlotte, Addison and Isabella. He was lovingly known as “PA” to the grandchildren and others.

Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Ruth Howard; brother, Ferris Howard and grandson, Eric Edenfield.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
