Career: He worked 15 years at Commonwealth Life Insurance in Hopkinsville, KY resigning as the Assistant District Manager. After relocating to Lewisburg, TN to be closer to family, he worked as a Credit Manager at the former Taylor Hospital. He then moved to Clearwater, FL where he worked selling real estate. Retiring to Orange Park, FL to be closer to his daughter when his wife became ill in 2004.
Interests:
1. His FAITH: On March 1, 1950 he was baptized at 1st Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, KY. Many, many years later, he found his true church family in Orange Park, FL at Orange Cove Seventh Day Adventist.
2. His FAMILY: He was born into a small family, his parents and a sister within a township in southern Illinois. Many years later, he would meet his one and only love, his future bride, Dottie.
She took him to meet her sweet family, much larger with 9 siblings that lived on a farm in Guthrie, KY. City life to farm life, he LOVED every minute of it. His family grew and he LOVED that as well with 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grands he was blessed and grateful every day to be LOVED like that…
3. His HEALTH: He always believed everyone should “listen to their body”. He believed in exercising, having a good positive life attitude and laughing ALOT!
4. His MUSIC: He loved to sing, dance and listen to gospel and old school jazz music. He loved playing his harmonica for anyone that had an interest.
5. His ANIMALS: Like his mother, he loved all animals, especially his last dog, a little puff ball Pomeranian named Benji.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:30am at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
