John Louis Moore, age 75, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. John was born on June 26, 1948 in Greenwood, West Virginia to Roy Elmer Moore and Callie Lusk Moore. John worked as a mechanic for many years in the railroad industry. John was loved father, grandfather, and brother.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Polly; his parents, Roy and Callie; and siblings Tom, Jud, and Doug Moore, Connie Moore, and Chattie Lee. He is survived by his children Phillip Moore (Tracy), John Moore (Patricia), Kathy Mizell, and Richard Bocher (Tammy); sisters Dana Gibson (Ronnie), Ida Parks Moore, and Jessie Sheffield; and grandchildren Lorilei, Allison, Lydia, Phillip, Jr., Roland, John Matthew, Christopher, Brian, Heather, Shawn, Ronnie, Justin, Kayla, Ashley, and Joe.
A funeral service for John will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. The family will receive friends one hour prior at 10:00 AM. Following the funeral service, a committal service will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
