John Daniel McCall (Dan) 1/11/47 passed peacefully on November 18, at the age of 74 after a brief illness. Dan was an amazing dad, papa, friend and church member. Dan graduated from Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida and played football briefly at Western Carolina University in North Carolina. He met his wife of 54 years, Margaret while in school. Dan and wife Margaret were very active in their church, First Moravian in Greensboro NC, serving at countless Christmas “Love Feasts” and “Candle Teas” where Dan was famous for his “Moravian coffee”. After moving to Kingsland Ga. they volunteered at their church food pantry two days a week, helping hundreds of members of the community. As an avid duck hunter, Dan traveled extensively from the outer banks of North Carolina to Nova Scotia and Mexico. He was a very loving Papa to all of his grandchildren, Maddie, Cami, Danielle and Donovan. After moving to Kingsland Ga., he spent many years with Margaret and family at neighbors’ homes sharing fun times and tons of stories about growing up in “Old Florida” back when people went hunting on horseback and fishing for whatever you could find. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret, his children Heath McCall (Cindy) and Heather Kopp, (Chris), his grandchildren, Madison McCall Patterson (Grant), Camryn McCall, Donovan and Danielle Kopp. A celebration of life will be held at Kingsland United Methodist Church.
