John was preceded in death by, parents, Sam (1994) and Helen (1991), brother, Robert “Robby” (2020) and his brother in law, Richard “Richie” (2021). He is survived by his sister, Marci, brothers, Tim (Tracy), James (Raluka) and Meagan (John). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
John graduated from Sandalwood High School in 1983. He was a framer for thirty-five years and enjoyed the challenges of being a carpenter. His hobbies include riding four wheelers at Imeson Park back in the day, motorcycles and go-carts. He had a passion for working on engines and making anything that had wheels go faster. He enjoyed going to the beach at Huguenot Park, the NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, camping, fishing and was an avid Florida Gator fan. John enjoyed cooking and inventing seasoning rubs for smoking his famous Boston Pork Butt on the grill. He could always brighten the room with a joke or share a memory that would leave everyone laughing. He lived his life to the fullest and cherished the good times with family and dear friends.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I am free. I am following the path GOD has chosen for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I have found now peace at the end of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Oh yes, these things, I too will I miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much; good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief; don’t lengthen your time with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee, GOD wanted me now- HE SET ME FREE.
John’s final resting place will be next to his brother, Robby in The Cremation Garden at Greenlawn Cemetery. Rest in peace my dear Brother, ALL my love, Marci.
