Joe Pearce, 90, of Jacksonville died peacefully and stepped into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the George and Margaret Morris Center for Caring - UF Health Jacksonville Pavilion. He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte Patricia Pearce, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage and the son of the late Vester and Alma Pearce. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran who served 21 years in service to his country.
Joe was a devoted Christian who lived out his faith for all around him to see and provided friends and family an inspiring example to emulate. His generosity was well known and his strength of character served as an anchor on which his loved ones and friends could rely in difficult times. He will be greatly missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl E. Jordan and is survived by his son Earl J. Pearce and his wife Marilou of Fayetteville, NC, his son-in- law John (PeeWee) Jordan, four grandchildren, Jeremy Shane Jordan and his wife Soledad, Rebecca Louise and Rachel Caroline Pearce and Nathan Earl Grant Pearce and his wife Elizabeth. He is also survived by his two great grandchildren, Andrew and Parker Jordan.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Hardage -Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. (781-9262) on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 12-2 PM. Rev. Gregory grant will conduct the memorial service, with a graveside service to follow at Hardage-Giddens Memorial Park.
