Mary Jeanette (Jeannie) McCafferty, 86, went on to her heavenly home January 15, 2023 in Jacksonville, FL. surrounded by her children and to the song “Here I Am Lord”, played and sung by her son, Neil.
Jeannie was born September 12,1936 in Wilmington, DE, the second daughter of six girls born to Harold and Margaret Kennedy. Following High School, she moved to Philadelphia where she met and married Connie McCafferty and within one year of their marriage, began her life as a mother. Life with Connie and a rapidly growing family came with many relocations and Jeannie loved making each home her own for her family. After five children and eleven years after the 5th child, much to their surprise, they were gifted with their sixth child and completed their family.
At the age of 50, Jeannie began her journey to a second career in real estate. Her love of making a house into a home led her to a successful and rewarding career working as a New Home Sales Associate with Pulte Homes. She, through her determination and intentionally giving her career over to God, worked for nearly twenty years, accumulating numerous awards and accolades before retiring from her career at the top of her game.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband, Connie, in 2016. She is survived by her six children, Neil (Sonya), Suzanne (Randy), Kevin (Alison), Trish (David), Karen (Nick) and Lindsay (Aaron); thirteen grandchildren, Patrick (Amanda), Sean, Kelly Anne (Bobby), Matthew (Lindsay), Joshua, Charlotte, Zachary, Kiersten, Katie, Kara, Rowan, Brooke and Brynn; five great-grandchildren, Brinley, Molly, Gwen, Pierce and Felicity; and two of her five sisters, Patsy and Jane.
