My name is Melissa Baez. Unfortunately, you do not know me. Mark Kirk and I were very good friends with Jay. He would stay at our home in Port Saint Lucie, when ever he got the chance. Especially, for Fantasy Football. He usually brought Bentley Bear with him, if he could, but when he did, Bentley would have to stay at my mom and dad's because Murphy, our greatdane mix, would probably eat him (lol). When it was time for bed, Murphy would want to sleep with Jay in the bed too. And he did sometimes. Mark and Jay talked on the phone almost everyday, mostly about football. Jay loved to play Texas Hold'em. On the weekend of draft day Sept 5th, Jay accompanied me and my family to the casino. We laughed so much on the car ride there. I had never heard Jay laugh so hard (smile). Hey Jay! "Wannawinabago!" He had beginners luck too. He won in everything he played. he played the slots, he hit nice, He played Texas Hold'em, he left with a stack full of chips. We had a good time, except for the ride home, which we still managed to laugh. That Sunday, My parents put his name in the prayer book, when they went to church.

We were worried, when we hadn't heard from him in a week. We learned of his passing today. My heart hurts knowing that I would not be able to give him one more hug goodbye and have that one last private joke laugh with him.  I know "I am sorry for your loss" does not lessen the pain. Jay was part of our family and we will miss him dearly.

Linda, My prayers are with you and the family. Jay was such an amazing person and friend to me. I am already missing him so much. He had the best personality ever and he always kept me laughing and smiling. As I always told him he was "My Gillian" because of his goofy persona.  He shared with me how close you two were and how much he loved you. I hope you can find some peace in knowing that Jay was very loved by all. I will miss seeing him and his sweet sweet Bentley.
