Don and I met Janet and Mike in 2004 when we purchased a house in the Jacksonville area. Janet generously invited me, a stranger to her, to stay at her house while moving in to our house. Our connection was put together by my very dear friend from Michigan who was Janet’s high school buddy. I told Janet many times how thoughtful it was that she opened up her house to a stranger. We instantly became friends in 2004 and remained close til her passing. 

Janet and I laughed a lot as she was so much fun and made our move to Jacksonville so easy with her many suggestions of doctors, where to shop and food venues.

I miss you Janet and having you in my life totally enriched my life to the fullest. Rest in peace my dear friend.

For the last 20 years, Janet and Mike and John and I have shared moments very precious in our lives.  The most memorable were our children Suzanna and David’s beautiful wedding in 2003 in Florida, our hours in August 2006 at the hospital in Jacksonville anxiously waiting to receive our lovely granddaughter, Gabriela, and in 2012 with love and happiness, our welcome of grandson Victor.

In 2014 Janet and Mike came to Brazil to visit my hometown, Porto Seguro, together with Dave, Suzanna, the kids and us. There they met my mother and my five Torres siblings and their families, for a real family reunion, and celebrated Victor’s second birthday at our beach house.

We are very grateful for those happy occasions; the memories will be with us forever.

We will miss Janet and pray for her soul to rest in eternal peace.

The Torres family also sends their condolences to Mike, David, Suzanna, Gabriela, and Victor.
