Jane Earnest Wells, 94, passed away on June 25, 2015. Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, she was graduated from Woodlawn High School. She moved to Jacksonville in 1942, where after raising three children, was employed as a secretary at John Gorrie Jr. High and Ed White High School. She was a woman of faith and attended Riverside Avenue Christian Church for well over sixty years. She was active in civic organizations including the Women's Club in Riverside and the Garden Club of Jacksonville. She was an avid bridge player and a member of several clubs. She moved to Black Mountain, NC in 2006. There she became a member of the First Christian Church and lived comfortably at Highland Farms. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jack Wells, her beloved sister Doris Earnest Player (husband, Carl) and two children, Rae Marie Jones (husband, Arnold) and Raymond Jack Wells Jr. She is survived by her devoted son Richard Earnest Wells (spouse, John Page) of Palm Springs CA, a granddaughter, Teresa Marie Reed of Black Mountain, a grandson David Nininger Wells (wife, Franca) of San Jose, CA. and two great grandchildren Kat Wells and Kelly Gardner. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 13, 2015. An internment will take place at 9:30 am in Riverside Memorial Park followed by a memorial service and reception at 10:30 am at Riverside Avenue Christian Church. Memorials in Mrs. Wells' honor may be made to the Riverside Christian Church (Pantry Fund) and the First Christian Church of Black Mountain.
